About Sage Advisory

Sage Advisory supports individuals and families when healthcare circumstances become complex or difficult to manage independently. Services are designed to bring structure and clarity to healthcare information, identify next steps, and support clients as they move through care transitions and important medical decisions. Support may extend across multiple stages of care, particularly when several providers, specialties, settings, caregivers, or family members are involved.

Each engagement is highly individualized and shaped by the specific circumstances and priorities involved. Some are focused and time-limited, while others evolve as needs change. The goal is clarity, confidence and forward movement, supported by thoughtful guidance throughout.

When Sage Advisory Can Help:

  • A recent diagnosis or important change in health status calls for clear next steps and thoughtful preparation for medical discussions

  • Multiple specialists are involved and recommendations need alignment or clarification

  • Ongoing or chronic health conditions involve multiple treatment considerations over time

  • A major care transition is approaching (hospital discharge, rehabilitation, advanced illness, hospice) and planning feels complex

  • Second or third opinions are being considered and benefit from structured review and question preparation

  • Medical appointments require preparation and development of informed questions

  • Family members or caregivers need clarity around roles, communication, or next steps

Meet Janna Oxman

Sage Advisory grew from a professional foundation in legal practice and healthcare-related settings, shaped through working with individuals and families facing complex health circumstances. Healthcare situations can become layered and difficult to navigate, particularly when conditions are evolving or the path forward is unclear. Uncertainty can feel overwhelming, and structured, steady guidance brings clarity and direction.

My background spans legal practice, healthcare leadership, and patient advocacy. I practiced law with a focus on medical malpractice and healthcare risk across hospital, insurance, and private practice. I later served in a senior healthcare leadership role, deepening my understanding of how medical systems function, communicate, and support patients and families. I currently serve as a lay advisor on the Quality of Care Committee of the Board at Charles E. Smith Life Communities, a senior living and care campus in Rockville, Maryland serving adults across multiple levels of care.

Sage Advisory reflects the convergence of these experiences: structured analysis grounded in healthcare literacy, paired with steady, human-centered guidance during times of complexity, uncertainty, and transition.
