Frequently Asked Questions
The first step is a 30-minute complimentary conversation, designed to understand the nature of the situation at hand and determine whether working together would be a helpful next step. From there, Sage Advisory will recommend an appropriate path forward, which may include a comprehensive consultation, support focused on a specific issue, or guidance toward other resources as needed.
Sage Advisory often works with family members or other individuals who are supporting a parent or loved one through healthcare matters or transitions in living and care arrangements. Each situation is different, and Sage Advisory’s role is shaped by the circumstances, including how decisions are made and whether any legal authority is in place. In some cases, an adult child engages Sage Advisory to assist with coordination and communication while the parent remains the primary decision-maker. In other situations, a designated representative may have formal authority to act on the individual’s behalf. When legal authority is required, such as a Medical Durable Power of Attorney or Power of Attorney, Sage Advisory works within those parameters and will request appropriate documentation as needed.
Sage Advisory works at the direction of the client and may involve family members, caregivers, or other participants when appropriate and with the client’s consent. Participation is structured to support coordination and clarity, while maintaining clear roles and respect for the client relationship.
Insurance questions and administrative issues are often part of a client’s broader healthcare landscape. Sage Advisory can support clients by helping organize relevant information, gather supporting documentation, and prepare questions or materials to assist clients in their interactions with insurers, providers, or other third-party professionals. When more specialized insurance billing or claims support is needed, Sage Advisory can help clients identify and connect with appropriate resources or services, and coordinate alongside those professionals as part of the broader advisory support.
With client’s written authorization for each provider, Sage Advisory may communicate directly with healthcare providers to support clarity, coordination, and continuity of care. When helpful, Sage Advisory may provide a brief introductory letter to a client’s provider explaining our role and relationship to client, helping to establish context and facilitate effective communication.
Sage Advisory treats all client information with care and discretion and uses it solely for the purpose of providing services. When sensitive or protected health information is involved, Sage Advisory uses appropriate secure communication methods and obtains required client authorizations before sharing information.
Sage Advisory aims to respond by the next business day. When a matter is time-sensitive, clients are encouraged to indicate urgency so expectations can be aligned.
